Rover names Vik Rajagopal CFO and Jensen Harris president

Rover has named Vik Rajagopal as chief financial officer and Jensen Harris as president of marketplace, product and technology, the title Brent Turner held before he became CEO in 2025. Rajagopal arrives from Motus, where he was CFO, and Harris from Textio, the software company he co-founded in 2014.

Rover, based in Seattle, said it operates in 18 countries across North America, Europe and Australia, and that its sitters and walkers have provided 50 million bookings. Its brands are Rover, Meowtel, Mad Paws and Cat in a Flat.

Turner said of Rajagopal, "We wanted an experienced leader who fits our values and culture. In Vik, we found both." Of Harris, Turner said, "Jensen has built software used by more than a billion people."

Rajagopal takes a finance seat with a short history

Rover said Rajagopal spent a decade at Amazon, served as CFO and CEO of Logos, and most recently was CFO at Motus. He succeeds Charlie Wickers, who Rover said was CFO from 2022 to 2025.

Wickers was Rover's vice president of finance when the company named him successor to CFO Tracy Knox, according to Rover's March 2022 filing with the SEC. Knox stayed on through August 2022, and CEO Aaron Easterly called Wickers "a special talent." Rajagopal comes from outside, which is a different route into the job than the one Wickers took.

Rover is owned by Blackstone, whose $2.3 billion deal for the company GeekWire described in 2025 as made the year before. The finance seat sits at a company with a private equity owner, not a public float.

Harris takes over the product and marketplace remit

Rover said Harris co-founded Textio in 2014 and led it as CTO and CEO, after more than 15 years at Microsoft working on Office, Outlook and Windows. He succeeds Turner in the president role. When Turner became CEO, Rover described him in a company announcement as a leader who had been with the company since 2014 as president and chief operating officer.

Rover's own leadership page lists Billie Sue Chafins as senior vice president of technology and Matthew Sternberg as senior vice president of product and marketplace. Harris's title covers the same three areas under one name.

The marketplace he takes on is large. Rover said in June 2025 that it had more than $1 billion in annual sales and operated in 16 countries, and that annual bookings rose from 115,000 in 2014 to 7.2 million in 2025. The new announcement puts the country count at 18.

Rover also publishes survey data from its customer base. In a May survey of 1,000 U.S. pet parents, Rover said 78% would stay in a lower-rated hotel to keep their pet with a 5-star sitter. In a Canadian survey, 20% of respondents had already booked a sitter to attend an event.

Care.com made a similar product hire in September

Care.com, which connects families with caregivers, named Sam Hall chief product and technology officer in September. Care.com's team page lists Hall's prior employers as Amazon, Grubhub, ClassPass and CLEAR, along with eight U.S. patents.

Boarding operators and independent sitters who compete with Rover for the same households have Rover's stated plans to go on. Rover said it is testing additional service lines, offers training in the U.S. and has expanded its cat-care offerings. Those are product decisions that now sit under Harris's title.

Rover now has a new finance chief and a new product chief, and its stated priorities include more service lines and more cat care.
