WoafMeow closed a pre-seed round under $1 million, backed by a Hong Kong family office, to build a passive smart bed for aging and sick pets instead of a wearable collar. The platform ambition it's chasing, AI guidance, a vet marketplace, local services, and end-of-life support, is bigger than the check funding it.

Boehringer Ingelheim acquired Evax AG, a Swiss biotech developing a therapeutic vaccine for horse allergic skin disease, without disclosing deal terms. It's the company's second unpriced vaccine-platform acquisition since 2024, a pattern that makes it harder for founders and rivals to benchmark what these deals are actually worth.

TAW Ventures named Jay Pusey chief executive of Polkadog on August 10th, ten weeks after acquiring the Boston treat brand from co-founders Rob Van Sickle and Deb Suchman. VAFO Group has acquired Berlin-based D2C pet food brand Pets Deli on undisclosed terms, with founder Tania Moser returning as CEO after more than a year as chairwoman. The deal is the second involving a German pet food company The Underbite has tracked in two weeks, and it fits a pattern of manufacturers buying direct customer relationships rather than building them.

At least eleven pet-industry companies, led by veterinary telehealth platform Dutch's 2,395% three-year growth, placed on the 2026 Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest-growing private companies. Their range, from consolidated veterinary care to doodle-breed grooming, maps where pet industry money is actually moving.

Healthy Paws is embedding its pet insurance inside DogPack, a 2.5-million-user dog app, marking the Chubb-backed insurer's fourth embedded-distribution partnership in about a year. None of the four deals disclose attach rates or revenue terms, leaving the strategy's payoff unproven.
