Oxyfresh puts its cat dental water additive in every PetSmart store
Oxyfresh's Cat Dental Water Additive is now in the cat dental aisle of every U.S. PetSmart store and on PetSmart.com. The company cites 53 million U.S. cat households and says up to 70% of cats over age three have dental disease.

Every U.S. PetSmart store now stocks Oxyfresh's cat dental water additive in its cat dental aisle, and PetSmart.com sells it too. Oxyfresh announced the rollout on October 26th, 2026. The Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, company has sold pet dental care for more than 30 years, and its original reputation rests on a water additive for dogs and cats.
"Seeing Oxyfresh on the shelf in every PetSmart store nationwide is a huge moment for us," said Melissa Gulbranson, Oxyfresh's president. "Having a partner like PetSmart help us bring that mission to more cat parents is something we're incredibly proud of."
Oxyfresh pitches the cat aisle on cat owner growth
Oxyfresh cited the American Pet Products Association for 23% growth in cat parents in 2024 and another 5% in 2025, reaching 53 million U.S. households. It also said studies suggest up to 70% of cats over age three have some form of dental disease.
The additive is tasteless and odorless, and owners mix it into a cat's drinking water each day. It is built for owners who will not brush a cat and for cats that refuse anything that tastes different from water. Oxyfresh says it fights plaque and tartar and supports healthy gums, with no toothbrush.
PetSmart.com sells the cat formula as an 8 fl oz bottle for $9.99.
The company points to more than 40k customer reviews for its bestselling Innovative Pet Dental Water Additive, its formula for dogs and cats.
Cat brands keep changing the format to skip the fight
Other brands have also changed the format to reach cats. Pet Honesty put supplements into lickable purées for cats in July. Native Pet took daily cat chews to Petco on October 19th.
Dental is crowded too, though most of the new formats are for dogs. Oxyfresh added a $34.95 dental powder for dogs and cats in September, three months after Prodogi, a veterinarian-founded startup, launched a dissolvable oral strip for dogs. Wuffes sells a dental powder for dogs built on its SuperYolk IgY ingredient.
On the vet side, the Veterinary Oral Health Council's accepted list for cats names one water additive line, HealthyMouth, alongside Feline Greenies treats and Ceva's PlaqueOff powder.
For a retail buyer or a clinic, that list shows which home dental products have passed the council's review of plaque and tartar claims.
PetSmart keeps adding wellness brands this year
PetSmart runs nearly 1,700 stores across North America, and it has opened its shelves to several challenger brands in 2026. Open Farm entered the chain in June, and Wuffes put its full supplement range into PetSmart the same month. A day after Oxyfresh's news, supplement brand PetLabCo said four of its dog products had reached all 1,500+ of PetSmart's U.S. stores, so the chain's wellness shelves are still being filled this fall.
For rival dental brands, Oxyfresh now holds a spot in every U.S. store's cat dental aisle. In a PetSmart.com search, the cat formula is the only cat-specific Oxyfresh item, listed next to its dog and cat water additive and toothpaste. Gulbranson described the placement as a way to reach cat parents "where they're already shopping."
